~ Deep Blue now has TV's! After 11 years of operating without them, there are now two 42 inch flat screens are up and running for the World Series.

~ In PA restaurant news… The culinary smorgasbord that is West Chester is about to become even more varied with the addition of two new restaurants about three blocks apart. They are Nonna’s: A Giunta Tradition will serve Italian fare in the 100 block of East Gay Street, and Indian Thai Spice Bistro (BYOB), in the 100 block of West Market Street. Both are slated to open later this month.

~Recycle your household hazardous waste, electronic goods, scrap tires, and to shred up to three boxes of documents per household this Saturday, November 7 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the parking lot at Frawley Stadium on South Madison Street along the Riverfront. ~ The cool-but-not-too-cold fall weather is perhaps the best time of the year for outdoor runs. The Riverfront has you ready to race with several 5Ks scheduled this month. Sign up for the inaugural Delaware Futures 5K, held Saturday, Nov. 7, and you’ll be supporting at-risk high school students prepare for college. (The race starts at Joe’s Crab Shack.) On Saturday, Nov. 14, Girls on the Run Delaware hosts a 5K to benefit their program, which teaches life skills to girls ages 8 to 13. The course begins at Dravo Plaza. ~ In week two of the Wilmington Jaycees turkey drive, 20 more turkeys have been donated for the Thanksgiving Food Baskets project, putting our total at 57 turkeys. We still need 443 more to reach our goal of 500 baskets. These turkeys will go directly to poor families in the city of Wilmington as part of a full Thanksgiving meal provided through the West End Neighborhood House.
